Local Action
Make your school superintendent, school board, and principals aware that strong arts education programs, based on National Art Standards and taught by certified arts educators, are essential for all students beginning at an early age.
Write a letter to the editors of your local newspapers voicing your support of the arts and the community impact that the arts make on businesses.
Encourage business leaders to write in support of the arts and the economic impact that the arts have on the business community.
Organize a letter and call-in campaign to the "Speak Out" section in your local media voicing the same.
Use every forum (church, restaurants, sewing circles, etc.) to proclaim your support of arts education for all children.
State Action
Write or call your state legislators and governor as well as the State School Board to recommend appropriate funding for arts education programs and to express your belief that arts education is an integral part of education reform.
