Academia Loves Artists Flyers

With the new Georgia graduation requirements, recruiting students for visual arts courses is more important than ever. We want to let parents and students know visual arts is a college preparatory subject for everyone, not just art majors. We’ve created these flyers for secondary art teachers to download and photocopy. The flyers are designed for distribution at rising ninth grade meetings, counseling sessions, and parents’ nights. We suggest you begin by enlisting the help of your guidance counselors, and asking them to hand out the flyers in their offices.
You may want to add other information on the back, such as suggested scheduling for taking art all four years. As you discover creative ways to make use of the flyers, we would enjoy hearing how they work, or improvements you suggest. We hope these handouts will assist you in your recruitment activities, and help parents and students remember that visual arts is preparation for college and preparation for life!
